Well, that's exactly what happened at Pastorant. A few friends got together back in 2005, allowed themselves to dream big and poured their hearts and souls into creating a dreamy little restaurant that serves delicious meals that taste like your mom got inspired and made them especially for you, just because they are your favorite.
You know how sometimes when you and your friends have one too many glasses of wine and start dreaming big you tell yourselves…
Well, someday we should open a restaurant. It would be cozy and welcoming and earthy and beautiful. We would serve pasta and wine, nothing fancy, just good hearty food.
Zhivka would craft the menu and select the perfect wines. Maria would make sure the place was full of fresh flowers and little curiosities for people to look at. Diana would always be around to greet the customers, tell them about the newest desserts and say nice things about their kids. Alex, he would make sure we stay afloat and don’t forget why we started doing this to begin with.
Oh! That would be so amazingly cool, and we would love to be there every day and everybody would love to come and eat with us, and we would make sure to tell them to come back. And they would.
Yes! They would all come back…
They hired a talented architect, Ms. Penka Stancheva, to take a dingy ground-floor space and transform it into a place where daydreaming is the thing to do, and food is meant to satisfy not just your bodily hunger but also your appetite for life. And for love.
For love is all you feel when you enter Pastorant. It is love for pasta, love for good simple food and wine, love for color and detail, love for your friends. People feel that love the moment they step into Pastorant. They eat and drink, and love and wonder why that woman doesn’t seem to mind that her friend just dropped an ice cube on the floor and put it right back into her wine glass. After they are finished with dessert, they go home smiling.
